One Piece season 2 Netflix releases first look at One Piece season 2, confirms season 3

The highly anticipated second season of Netflix’s One Piece will release in 2026, and production on season 3 will begin later this year. On Sunday (August 10), the streamer released the first teaser for the live-action adaptation of Eiichiro Oda’s universally loved manga — along with exciting news of another season for fans of the Straw Hat Pirates.

The 90-second teaser begins with Iñaki Godoy as Monkey D. Luffy declaring, “Everything I’ve done, wherever I’ve been, is for One Piece,” and also shows glimpses of danger, surprises, and colorful new allies and enemies.

According to Netflix, Season 2 will feature the “most dangerous enemies and most dangerous missions ever” as Luffy and his crew enter the Grand Line – an unpredictable sea filled with bizarre islands, legendary treasures, and formidable foes.

The new season is expected to adapt major manga arcs from Loguetown to Drum Island, introducing fan-favorite characters like Dr. Kureha, Wapol, and Dr. Hiriluk. Fans also got a glimpse of Tony Tony Chopper, a blue-nosed reindeer voiced by Mikaela Hoover.

New cast members include Lera Abova (Miss All-Sunday), Charithra Chandran (Bridgerton) as Miss Wednesday, Callum Kerr as Captain Smoker, and Brendan Sean Murray as Broggy. David Dastmalchian (Mr. 3), Katey Sagal (Dr. Kureha), Sendhil Ramamurthy (Nefertari Cobra) and Joe Manganiello (Mr. 0) will also appear. Returning cast members include Morgan Davis (Coby), Aidan Scott (Helmepo) and Vincent Regan (Vice Admiral Garp).

Released on August 31, 2023, Season 1 was a smash hit, topping Netflix’s English-language TV charts with 18.5 million views in its first week.

Production on Season 3 will begin later this year in Cape Town, South Africa, where Ian Stokes will join Joe Tracz as co-showrunner, following the departure of Matt Owens.
