Aryan Khan is all set to make his directorial debut with Netflix’s upcoming web series The Ba**ds of Bollywood*, and the first preview has already got people talking. Starring Sahher Bamba and Lakshya in the lead, the trailer dropped on Wednesday and gives us a glimpse of a show that’s cheeky, satirical, and very self-aware.

What’s in the Preview?
The teaser kicks off with Shah Rukh Khan’s voiceover reminding us that “the city of dreams isn’t meant for everyone.” We’re then introduced to Lakshya as Aasman Singh, an actor who doesn’t just want fame—he wants something deeper. Raghav Juyal steps in as his loyal friend, hyping up his latest blockbuster, Revolver.
And then comes Bobby Deol, larger than life, playing “India’s biggest star” Ajay Talvar. Even Karan Johar pops up briefly in a fiery moment. The preview wraps up with a tongue-in-cheek line about how “people become more famous once they go to jail” , before surprise cameos by none other than Salman Khan and Ranveer Singh.
Cast and Release Date
Alongside Sahher Bamba and Lakshya, the show also stars Bobby Deol, Manoj Pahwa, Mona Singh, Manish Chaudhari, Raghav Juyal, Anya Singh, Vijayant Kohli, and Gautami Kapoor. The series is dropping on Netflix on September 18.
The First Look
This isn’t the first time the show grabbed attention. Earlier this year, Shah Rukh Khan introduced the project during a Netflix event. The quirky title reveal video showed SRK acting out a scene while Aryan, in his director’s hat, kept interrupting him. A visibly annoyed SRK eventually lashed out—only for Aryan to admit he’d forgotten to even hit record. The clip ended on a hilarious note, setting the tone for the series.
Aryan Khan’s Take on Bollywood
In a promo released earlier this week, Aryan summed up his approach to the show with a sharp line:
“Bollywood – jisse aap ne saalon se pyaar bhi kiya aur vaar bhi kiya. Main bhi wahi karunga… bahot saara pyaar aur thoda sa vaar.”
