Job Profile & Service Conditions
1. Branch Postmaster (BPM)
Responsibilities:

Handle day-to-day postal operations of the Branch Post Office (BO).

Manage India Post Payments Bank (IPPB) services.

Promote and market postal products and services.

Operate Customer Service Centres (CSC).
-
Ensure smooth mail delivery and office functioning.

Perform ABPM duties when required.

Complete any additional tasks assigned by postal authorities.
Residence Condition:

BPM must arrange suitable accommodation for the Branch Post Office.

Must reside in the same village where the BO is located.
-
Accommodation must meet departmental standards.

A declaration regarding accommodation is mandatory before engagement.
2. Assistant Branch Postmaster (ABPM)
Responsibilities:

Sale of stamps and stationery.

Doorstep mail delivery and mail exchange.
-
Handle IPPB deposit and payment transactions.
-
Assist BPM in daily postal work.
-
Promote postal and CSC services.
-
Perform BPM duties if required.
-
Carry out tasks assigned by senior officers.
Residence Condition:

ABPM must reside within the delivery area of the concerned Branch Post Office.
3. Dak Sevak
Responsibilities:

Mail delivery and collection.

Sale of stamps and stationery.

Handle IPPB transactions.

Work in Railway Mail Service (RMS) offices if required.

Assist Postmasters in office work, marketing, and business promotion.
Residence Condition:

Dak Sevak must reside within the delivery jurisdiction of the concerned Head Office (HO) or Sub Office (SO).
