Cochin Shipyard Limited Recruitment 2026: 260 Vacancies for ITI Pass Candidates

Cochin Shipyard Limited (CSL) has released an official notification for the recruitment of 260 Fabrication Assistants and Outfit Assistants on a contract basis for 2026. ITI-qualified candidates are eligible to apply online through the official CSL website.

Educational Qualification & Experience

Fabrication Assistants

Sheet Metal Worker

• SSLC + ITI (NTC) in Sheet Metal Worker trade

• Minimum 3 years post-qualification experience in fabrication (cutting, fit-up, welding)

Welder

• SSLC + ITI (NTC) in Welder / Welder (Gas & Electric)

• Minimum 3 years post-qualification experience in relevant trade

Outfit Assistants (All Trades)

For all Outfit Assistant posts, candidates must have:

• SSLC + ITI (NTC) in the respective trade

• Minimum 3 years post-qualification experience in the relevant field

Crane Operator:
ITI in Electrician / Electronic Mechanic / Instrument Mechanic with 3 years experience in electrical crane operation

Shipwright Wood:
ITI in Shipwright Wood or Carpenter with 3 years experience

• Only post-qualification experience will be considered

• Experience will be calculated as on 07 February 2026

• Apprenticeship training under the Apprentices Act, 1961 and paid training will be treated as experience

• However, apprenticeship experience will not be considered for higher pay fixation

Salary Details

• Basic Consolidated Pay: ₹23,300 per month (minimum 3 years experience)

• Extra Work Compensation: Up to ₹5,830 per month

• Maximum Monthly Remuneration: ₹29,130

• Higher pay may be offered for additional relevant experience in CSL or similar shipyards

Age Limit (As on 07.02.2026)

• Maximum Age: 45 years

• Date of Birth should be on or after 08 February 1981

Age Relaxation

• OBC (NCL): 3 years

• SC/ST: 5 years

• PwBD & Ex-servicemen: As per Govt. rules (maximum age 50 years)

Cochin Shipyard Limited Recruitment Selection Process

• Selection will be based on a Practical Test (100 Marks)

• Minimum qualifying marks:

  • UR / EWS: 50%

  • OBC: 45%

  • SC/ST / PwBD: 40%

• CSL may relax qualifying marks if sufficient candidates are not available

• Final merit list will be prepared based on marks secured

• In case of tie, older candidate will be ranked higher

General Instructions

• Contract period: Up to 5 years

• Posting may be at CSL Kochi or any CSL unit/project site in India or abroad

• Only Indian Nationals are eligible

• Candidates already working as Fabrication/Outfit Assistants in CSL are not eligible

• No TA/DA will be paid

• Medical fitness is mandatory

• Legal jurisdiction: Ernakulam only
